1. Introduction

SalonIQ ("we," "us," or "our") is a messaging and scheduling platform that powers SMS communications on behalf of the salons and beauty businesses that use our software (each, a "Salon Partner"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights when you receive SMS messages or interact with services delivered through SalonIQ on behalf of a Salon Partner.

2. Information We Collect

• Contact information: your name, phone number, and email address provided at booking or sign-up with a Salon Partner.
• Appointment history: dates, services booked, stylist preference, and visit frequency as recorded by the Salon Partner.
• Phone verification: when you provide your phone number through the chat widget, a one-time verification code is sent to confirm your identity. The code is temporary and never stored after use. Your verified phone number is linked to your client profile.
• SMS marketing preference: your opt-in or opt-out choice, including the date and method (inbound SMS reply), is recorded and stored per client profile. This preference is honored for all future promotional and reminder communications.
• Device & usage data: browser type and general location (city/region) when you access web tools operated by a Salon Partner through SalonIQ.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Deliver appointment confirmations, reminders, and cancellation notices by SMS on behalf of your Salon Partner.
• Send promotional messages, offers, and re-engagement campaigns authorized by your Salon Partner (only if you have opted in).
• Enable Salon Partners to analyze visit frequency and service preferences to improve their services.
• Comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.

4. SMS Communications & Consent

Transactional messages (no opt-in required): Booking confirmations and appointment reminders are transactional and are sent regardless of marketing preference.

Marketing opt-in — SMS: When you text a salon for the first time, you will receive a welcome message asking you to reply YES to receive appointment reminders and promotional offers, or NO to opt out. You may book appointments regardless of your reply. Any subsequent STOP message will immediately unsubscribe you from promotional messages.

SalonIQ sends messages strictly at the direction of the Salon Partner you have a relationship with. Your consent applies to that specific Salon Partner and does not enroll you in communications from other salons or businesses using the SalonIQ platform.

Message frequency varies. Standard message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance. Opting out of marketing messages does not affect transactional messages such as booking confirmations.

SMS messages are delivered via Twilio, a third-party carrier-grade messaging service. Your phone number is shared with Twilio solely for message delivery and is not sold to any other third party.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Salon Partners — the salon or beauty business you have a direct relationship with, who direct all messaging on your behalf.
• Twilio Inc. — for SMS delivery.
• Service providers who support platform operations under confidentiality agreements.
• Law enforcement or regulators when required by applicable law.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your client relationship with a Salon Partner is active, and for up to 3 years afterward for compliance purposes. SMS consent records are retained for a minimum of 5 years as required by TCPA guidelines.

7. Your Rights

• Request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting your Salon Partner directly.
• Opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message.
• Request correction of inaccurate information through your Salon Partner.

8. Security

SalonIQ uses industry-standard encryption and access controls to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we take all reasonable precautions to safeguard your information.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of services delivered through SalonIQ after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
